S02.E01: Meson de Mesilla - Hotel Hell [V]

I could be completely wrong, but I thought the point of the mexican food was that the people staying in the hotel are most likely going to be from elsewhere, and probably expect at some point in their trip to eat mexican food, so if the hotel restaurant serves tuscan they're more likely to look elsewhere for their meals.

I agree that it partly depends on who you think you're primarily catering to.  However, just cause I'm in New Mexico visiting doesn't necessarily mean I'm in the mood for southwestern food.  Sometimes you just want Italian, or American no matter where you are. Plus, surely there are dozens of other actual authentic southwestern food restaurants within spitting distance?  Because unless this hotel has an airport shuttle (which seems doubtful--plus, what's the nearest airport?) everyone who stays there comes by car, I assume.  So it's not like being stuck at an airport hotel with no other options for food because you have no transport.

I highly suspect Callie went on this show just to "promote" her "singing" in hopes of jumpstarting her "career," in the time-honored tradition of reality show contestants everywhere.  But the best she can hope for is an offer to be a Cher impersonator in Vegas, cause honestly her impression wasn't too bad--and there are people who actually PAY for that kind of experience.  But even that still seems like a long shot.

(Ok, I looked it up.  And apparently Las Cruces does have an "international airport" 9 miles from the city.  However, according to Wikipedia, it hasn't hosted any commercial passenger flights since 2005.  It's used for government, military, and private charter flights now).

ETA:  Oh, and "meson"?  Someone explain please.  It's not Italian, or Spanish, nor French.  I've put it through Google translate and the only language that came back with that word is . . . . Esperanto?  (Which, heh.)  What am I not getting?
